Robert George "Bobby" Seale is an American political activist and author. In 1966, he co-founded the Black Panther Party with activist Huey P. Newton. Founded as the "Black Panther for Self-Defense", the main activity of the Party was to oversee police operations and challenge police brutality in black communities, primarily in Oakland, California, and later in the cities of the United States.
