Knowles ist ein zweimaliger Überlebender von Speiseröhrenkrebs und hat nach seinem letzten Kampf seinen Lebensstil ein wenig reduziert, funktioniert aber immer noch gut. Knowles starb am 15. November 2018 in seinem Haus im Alter von 86 Jahren
