The body of a woman has been found in the search for missing 23-year-old Jenny Hall, U.K. police confirmed this week.
The body was found by police in a “very remote area” in Teesdale in Northern England shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, Durham Police said in a statement. The update comes after Hall was reported missing on a remote moorland in the area on Feb. 18.
“We're sorry to report that officers searching for missing woman Jenny Hall have sadly found a body,” police said. “Officers carried out an extensive search alongside specialist partners and have been working around-the-clock to locate Jenny after she went missing on February 18.”
The body has not been formally identified, per the release. Authorities do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
“Jenny’s family have been notified and are currently being supported by specialist officers. They have asked for privacy at this devastating time,” the police added.

Hall was confirmed missing by police on Thursday, Feb. 20. She was last seen leaving her home in the town of Tow Law just after 3 p.m. local time on Feb. 18, the Durham Constabulary stated in an appeal for information shared on Facebook, which has since been deleted.
Police said that Hall's red Ford Focus was found on a road between the village of Eggleston and the town of Stanhope the day before she went missing. In an updated Facebook post on Friday, Feb. 21, officers confirmed that Hall’s last known location was “where her car was parked."
Police stated in the post that Hall was “a keen long-distance runner” and they were “carrying out a wider search in the Teesdale area” while focusing on running trails she often used. One of the areas Hall frequently ran through was Hamsterley Forest, which spans 4,942 acres, according to the BBC.

Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team
The Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team confirmed in a Facebook post on Thursday that they were assisting police with the search for Hall.
Challenging weather conditions and terrain in the area made the search difficult, authorities said.
"Behind the scenes, digital intelligence officers have conducted extensive inquiries into Jenny’s mobile phone, smart watch and running apps but none have yielded any results," police said on Friday.
The local police chief inspector, Dean Haythornthwaite, said in a Facebook post that “we have become increasingly concerned for Jenny since she was reported missing on Tuesday and have been exploring all lines of enquiry, including dozens from members of the public.”
